Latest News on the Opening of the Ijen Crater Tourism Park in Banyuwangi 

It is widely known that the Ijen Crater has been closed due to poisonous gas coming out of the base of the mountain, which was closed starting on July 13, 2024 until it was decided to be reopened. By the East Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency officially on September 8, 2024 with the latest criteria and requirements by the East Java Indonesian government.With the provision that the climb starts at 02.00 am to 12.00 noon with a radius of 500 meters from the bottom of the crater.

The latest requirements regarding climbing the Ijen Crater are that it must meet standard operating procedures (SOP).Tourists are advised to prepare equipment including cold-resistant clothing or jackets, non-slip shoes suitable for climbing, along with special masks and are advised to buy...Tickets and attach a Health Certificate from a Doctor as a climbing requirement.
